Beard oil is best applied on clean and towel-dried, but slightly damp skin from the water or shower. Determine how many drops you need by the length of your beard (shown above). We recommend using 3-6 drops. If you're a beginner, less is more!
Start by putting a the drops in the palm of your hand.
Work it through your beard after distributing the product evenly. Start near the sides of your beard and then brush your hands down the front using the same downward stroke motion. Then, brush your hands upward from the neck, making sure to reach the base of the beard as well!
Sweep your pointer fingers across the front of your beard several times to condition it. Finally, use a comb to distribute the product evenly until it feels soft and smooth.
Generally, the answer will be 1-3 times a day, but it will depend on your beard and how easily your skin becomes dry. If you’re applying it once a day, apply in the morning after you shower. If your skin feels dry, apply more; if it feels too oily, reduce the amount.
When skin and hair are still in-growth, they may be even more irritated and prickly, so it's beneficial to use oil on your stubble as it helps condition and moisturize both.
Beard oil indirectly promotes beard growth by creating the optimal conditions for hair growth on your skin. So, while beard oil can help your hair grow, it is not a magical solution. Your genetics play a large role in your facial hair capabilities; if your beard is patchy, applying beard oil is unlikely to help.
Beard oils are enriched with moisturizing ingredients that soften your skin and prevent it from getting dry, even if you have little to no facial hair.
This one, like many others, is highly dependent on your specific face and beard. Beard Oil is best used for moisture, but is also effective for conditioning your facial hair, while balm is great for styling it.
Although there is no one go-to beard oil, many users have a favorite. This is often attributed to the wide variety of scents available, but also to the quality and kinds of ingredients they include. Look out for beard oils that include argan, jojoba, or almond oil!
